Vau Vintage Includes Gift Tube

The 1999 Sandman Vau Vintage Port is deep red, opaque and inky with intense, fresh red fruit aromas. In the mouth it has rich plummy flavours with hints of strawberry supported by firm tannins giving a firm backbone and which will allow it to age superbly over several years. It is a superb match for desserts and mince pies.

Production method
Fermentation in stainless steel vats and in presses under controlled temperature, arrested through the addition of grape alcohol. Matured for 2 years in large used oak vats, bottled in 2nd year after harvest and aged in bottle since. Both dates appear on label.

The iconic Sandeman Don, created in 1928, is one of the first trademark images ever created. Sandeman recently opened its new production and visitor centre in Quinta do Seixo, in the Upper Douro. This houses the latest technology and production processes, including robotic lagares that closely replicate the traditional method of treading Port grapes by foot.
