Blandy’s 2009 Verdelho
A medium dry single vintage (Colheita) Madeira. The Verdelho grapes were predominantly sourced from Santo do Porto Moniz and Raposeira on the north coast of the island. The wines were then aged for 13 years in 650cl cask at the Blandy’s lodge in Funchal. Just 2,600 75cl
bottles have been released.
Tasting Notes
Colour . Amber with golden nuance, brilliant crystalline.
Aroma . Characteristic bouquet, with notes of jam and marmalade, candied fruits and dried fruits such as nuts and hazelnuts. Mouth . Very rich, soft, sweet and fresh at the same time, with a long nose of wood and dried fruits macerated in brandy.
Cellarage & Serving
This wine should be stored upright in a dark room with constant temperature, ideally no higher than 16ºC. Decanting is not necessary, but will help remove any deposit that may have occurred in bottle over time. It has been bottled ready for drinking and will keep for several months after opening. Enjoy slightly chilled on its own or paired with appetizers during a meal.
